The Institute of Innovation Management is a private research and training organisation promoting the development and dissemination of sustainable and economic solutions in enterprises and organisations.

The Institute was founded by Prof. Dr. Dieter Haustein in 1989.

Director and managing partner is Prof. Dr. Wolf D. Hartmann.

Originally conceived as a think tank for the industry, it now addresses itself to a variety of tasks such as environment management, the setting-up of innova­tion networks, transformation processes in eastern Europe and the transfer of know-how in general.

The Institute of Innovation Management is currently giving key attention to the following issues:

·      innovation lead-times and service support

 for industry and trade

·      health and environmental protection and safety at work with a view to sustainable social development

·      basic and advanced training, transfer of know-how and public relations

A specific strength of the Institute is its networked, interdisciplinary approach. With its network mindset, the Institute of Innovation Mangement is an exception in the world of science. Its declared aim is to transcend the compartmental­ised thinking that still persists, since this is proving to be an impediment to innovation and hence to sustainable development in all spheres.

The Institute of Innovation Management operates with a network of partners who enable synergies to be exploited and major joint projects to be supported.The parties involved are international universities and colleges, research and scientific institutes, governmental and non-governmental organisations, publishers, enterprises and representatives from the worlds

of culture, sport and health.
